Another blog back from the moribund.
Seeing as how we have so many changes in life, it's a good idea to share them with those select few.
We all know about Lindsey's nuptials, Dan-The-Man's course of study (pun intended), Dawheeze and Dodyn's long distance and absence.
So, on a more mundane note, last night I attended a joint meeting of the Institutes of Internal Auditors and Management Accountants (be still my beating heart). The very interesting and somewhat positive messages were about "Aerotropolis" (no, not a new movie for MPM to obsess over), and "Translinked" projects in this area.
The idea is to become a world-class transit hub because of our assets of water, excellent (it's true) airport(s), rail and highway systems. Many Asian shipments pass over our airport to land in other ones, so we could be the main port of entry. Between our port and one about 90 minutes up the road, we move more stuff annually than the Port of Los Angeles. So, lots of job possibilities for folks if it can be improved (infrastructure-wise), and marketed properly.
Hey, well, enough excitement. Off to the Elliptical and a movie to keep me going on it: Either one with L. DiCaprio and Tom Hanks, or a Schwarzenneger Clone type one.

Hey Mish...time for a new picture!
Could a cold weather port compete with LA? Maybe Dan and friends could cut the ice and dredge on a regular basis. It could be sold as a greener alternative since the cost of trucking everything to the Midwest would be cheaper than from LA. Problem is, is anyone listening to such advice? Ms. Granholm???
How exciting, I'll have to look into that when I get back...;) Keep the posts coming! I'm starting to catch up on everyone's and will keep up hopefully.
